Now that the busy season is finally winding down, I’m catching up on posting all the beautiful images from my family sessions! I was scrolling through my timeline earlier today and realized I haven’t shared nearly as many as I thought. One session that stands out was with the Potts family, and I just had to share it!
I’ve known this family for years now, and it’s always so amazing to see how quickly their kids are growing up. I first met them when their oldest daughter was just a tiny little baby—and now look at her, all grown up and so full of personality! It’s such a good reminder of how fast time flies. Honestly, it makes me want to pick up my camera more often and capture my own kids too.
Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of photographing the Potts family and their three kids, and it’s always a fun time. A fun little fact—Elena and I were actually pregnant at the same time with our youngest kiddos! And as a bonus, she’s also a fellow German, so there’s always something special about our friendship.
Lately, the Potts family has been diving deeper into real estate—Elena’s a rockstar real estate agent, and her husband is a builder. It’s been so great to help them with headshots and branding images during their family sessions so they have content for their marketing. It’s a little extra, but I love being able to do that for them!
This session took place at one of my all-time favorite spots—the Pinehurst Arboretum. I just love the bold fall colors—those rich reds, yellows, and warm tones are my absolute favorite. There’s something so magical about them, and they make the perfect backdrop for family photos. Fall really is my favorite season for photography, but spring is a close second.
Also, I’ve got to give a shoutout to @JenniferBPhotography for snapping a little behind-the-scenes shot of me during the session! I ran into her at the Arboretum, and it’s always so nice to see fellow photographers working their magic. I’m definitely looking forward to returning the favor next time I see her doing her thing at one of her own sessions.
If you’re looking for an amazing outdoor spot for photos in Moore County, NC, you can’t go wrong with the Pinehurst Arboretum. It’s got such a peaceful, natural vibe with beautiful trees, paths, and views—perfect for family sessions, engagement photos, headshots, you name it.
Thank you so much, Potts family, for letting me capture these memories for you. It’s always such an honor to watch your family grow, and I can’t wait to keep freezing these special moments in time.
And if you’re thinking about booking a session with Makana Photography, just shoot me a message—I’d love to capture your memories too!
