This published quilting artist wanted to showcase her work and brought a variety of props with her to her session. Prior to photographing her, we talked about what look she wanted for her images and what her ideas were, so that I could make sure to create her portraits exactly the way she had envisioned them.
When you schedule a studio headshot with me, there are countless options that we can style your shoot.
It can be a lifestyle headshot session as well as a more classic studio headshot in front of a colored or textured backdrop.
We can incorporate a desk with props ( like a laptop, coffee mug, notebook, magazines), I have a cozy corner with a bed setup if that's the style that you want to go for and large windows that have the most perfect, soft light streaming in from outside all day.
Before your session, we go over what you're looking for, what format you need the edited images to be, what website you are wanting to upload your finished images to ( i.e. a headshot for Linkedin will have a different image ratio and resolution than an ad in a local newspaper or a billboard). If your images need to go on a company website, I will look at the website to make sure to stay within the color palette that is prevalent on the website and to match my images to the design).
My booking process:
After the initial headshot or branding inquiry, I forward my digital info brochure to my potential clients. The brochure has information about booking your headshot session, my different session packages, various tips and tricks for preparing for your headshot session ( outfit guide, hair and make-up, etc) and a few other things in it.
It will also go over the way how I let my clients choose their images from a soft proof gallery, my retainer fee and other general information.
From there, you can choose your session collection/ package, decide on a location ( I offer studio headshots at my commercial photography studio downtown historic Cameron as well as headshots on location- outdoors at a local park, downtown Pinehurst/ Southern Pines/ Aberdeen/ Vas's etc.) or at your actual workplace.
