I recently had the chance to work with the amazing Monisa, who is a talented photographer herself. We met through a mutual friend some time ago, and ever since, we’ve teamed up on a handful of creative projects, both for commercial clients as well as for ourselves just for fun. For her headshot and branding session, we decided to combine some classic beauty shots with vibrant, feel-good images that really showcased her personality.
Monisa wanted a mix of timeless elegance and fun energy, so we started with some classic beauty shots. These were all about soft, flattering lighting, a simple black outfit, and that clean, classic look that always works. There’s something so chic about black paired with beautiful lighting—it’s a look that never goes out of style.
But then we switched things up and got a little more playful with her session. For the “feel-good” shots, we used bold, colorful backdrops, which are an absolute must-have for this type of vibe. If you’ve ever worked with Savage seamless paper backdrops, you know how amazing they are—so many colors to choose from! We paired those vibrant backdrops with some fun and colorful outfits that gave the whole shoot a fresh, lively feel. It was the perfect combo of classic elegance and bold fun!
Monisa is such a natural in front of the camera, and it was such a joy to capture these different looks. Since this shoot, we’ve teamed up on even more exciting projects. Monisa has modeled for several of my product photography and product video projects for local businesses in Aberdeen, Southern Pines, Pinehurst, Carthage, and all over Raleigh, Cary, and Fayetteville. It’s been amazing working with her to help companies build their visual branding and make their products shine in marketing and e-commerce images.
